A vibrant celebration of film, creativity, and culture bringing together storytellers, artists, and audiences from across Africa and beyond.
“To build a vibrant creative ecosystem in Embu that celebrates artistic excellence, cultural identity, and innovation.”
“To cultivate a sustainable creative industry in Embu by providing platforms for exhibition, training, networking, and global exchange.”
The Embu International Film and Creative Arts Festival (EIFCA) is not merely an event; it is a cultural imperative. Rooted in the vibrant landscapes of Embu County, Kenya, EIFCA serves as a premier confluence for filmmakers, artists, and visionaries from across the continent and the diaspora.
Our mission is to deconstruct established paradigms and provide an elevated platform for authentic, uncompromised African storytelling. We believe that film is the most potent medium for cultural preservation, socio-economic empowerment, and global dialogue. By bridging the gap between emerging local talent and established global industry standards, EIFCA cultivates an ecosystem where creativity translates into tangible industry growth.
Under the umbrella of the Africa International Film & Creative Arts Foundation (AIFCAF), our mandate extends far beyond the screen. We recognize that the creative arts are a vital engine for economic transformation.
Through rigorous capacity building, strategic masterclasses, and cross-border co-production forums, AIFCAF equips creative professionals with the technical acumen and business literacy required to navigate the global market. Our focus is holistic: moving ideas from script to screen, and from screen to sustainable enterprise. We are building the infrastructure that allows Kenyan and African creatives to thrive independently.
Nurturing the cinematic pioneers of tomorrow through direct engagement, education, and inspiration.
Collaborating with local educational institutions to integrate media literacy and foundational filmmaking into standard arts curricula, demystifying the production process for students.
Bringing the festival experience directly to schools across Embu County. We host curated screenings of inspiring, age-appropriate African cinema followed by interactive Q&A sessions.
Identifying exceptional young talent and providing them with mentorship, access to professional gear, and a dedicated exhibition category during the main EIFCA festival.
